I stopped in for a snack & decided on the grits, great choice! They were delicious (even without hot sauce, though I added some for the experience) All of the food smelled and looked amazing though The atmosphere was awesome! The music, the energy, the aesthetic, etc was very uplifting and positive! The service was amazing as well! The food was ready in probably less than 5 minutes, the employees were very friendly, kind, helpful, beautiful people inside and out. I grabbed takeout for my husband and I. We got a stuffed turkey leg with collard greens and a salmon plate with collard greens. Everything is delicious! The turkey is so tender and the salmon is very flavorful. The collards are just some of the best I have ever had.

Hubby and I went here, and the food was fresh and delicious. The lemon pepper wings were fried to Perfection definitely will be ordering that again. Also, the staff was amazing and friendly; even saw a high school classmate there too. However, I'm looking forward to coming back and trying out them po'boy sandwiches next time!! Thank you

Great flavor on everything! The customer service is impressive and very welcoming. We were there at around 2 on February 6 and witnessed a very patient employee expertly address a unsatisfied customer and ensure he was satisfied! I dare someone to say they are still hungry after eating here!

This place is a VIBE. Social media brought me out this way and I do NOT regret it. The fried catfish almost made me cry. I haven’t had any fried catfish since my Grandma passed in 2017 and I was very hesitant. It was superb! Thank you! I now also know where I can get my turkey leg craving fulfilled! Collard greens made me do a little dance in my seat. Everything I had tonight was simple amazing. There was a gentleman (who I believe may have been the owner) came out and greeted us and thanked us for visiting, the lady who took our order was FUN. Laughing, smiles, dancing and her energy was just happy to be there. I will happily make the trip from across the Narrows Bridge to grab some wonderful soul food!

My visit was 1/24/25 around 730pm If I could give this place more than 5 Stars I definitely would! This was my first time trying I’m like why haven’t I tried this place sooner literally all the food was perfect, hot fresh seasoned perfectly loved that the greens had no pork those were seasoned to perfection not too salty the Mac cheese was really good the turkey leg was huge lasted me 2 days hella meat & for the price was definitely worth it then the deserts man lol sooo good banana pudding & peach cobbler yum! The mango slushee drink was also on point gave the perfect little buzz! We met the owner really nice gentleman came and talked to us for little very welcoming making sure everything was good I mean the whole place is a vibe, owner also let us try some catfish on the house so that was dope when I tell you that catfish was seasoned so damn good mann! Definitely what I will be getting next time, I believe the owners sister that works in the front was really nice & welcoming she had patience’s with us while we were trying to figure out what we wanted customer service was top tier! ! We weren’t waiting a long time for our food either so that was a plus! I would definitely recommend this place I’ve never had good soul food like this in Tacoma/ Lakewood area I’m not even gonna lie 10/10 But get into these pictures tho!

We accidentally stopped here, and it was a great accident. My husband and I had already been discussing where to eat for dinner and I missed my normal turn for our drive home. We passed here and he saw a sign that said turkey legs and catfish. We shrugged and I turned around and came back. We walked in and perused the menu for a moment. Me being southern, this place really spoke to my soul. We each got a catfish and fries deal, but I swapped my fries for fried okra. We also got a side of collards. I snagged pics of the meal after we started eating. The prices are a tad up there, BUT the portions are huge. I left with half my dish to finish the next day (the air fryer crisped it right back up). The owner came out and spoke to each table, the cashier was cutting up with each party as they stepped up to play, a real personable place. The food was great. We will for sure be going back. I need to try the turkey leg, and I can see myself ordering just the sides to make a side plate (like in the south).
